Renewables Nation – Championing the plan to make Australia a Renewable Energy Exports Superpower

As the world shifts to a low carbon future, Australia has everything we need to take the lead and become a renewable energy export superpower. We’ve got endless sunshine, plenty of space, powerful winds, world-class expertise and strong trade relationships: it’s a winning combination. By acting now, we can make sure Australia will thrive in the global clean economy for generations to come.

Australia can power our whole nation with clean and affordable renewable energy, plus have plenty left over to sell to our neighbours. As a renewable energy export superpower, Australia doesn’t have to choose between a healthy environment or a booming economy. We can grow our economy, create tens of thousands of new clean energy jobs and lower our domestic carbon pollution.

Our business community plays a critical role in shaping and influencing policy outcomes. As a Business Champion we contribute the voice of our business community — giving weight and credibility to this campaign.  

To date, the campaign was successful in securing over $1 billion in federal funding towards several key stimulus measures WWF has been advocating for. In 2021 funding was allocated to modernise manufacturing through energy efficiency and fuel switching measures, and generated greater support for renewable microgrids and green hydrogen hub funding. The campaign is also focused on securing costed renewable energy export plans.
