Sophie O’Neil is the co-owner and Director of Torello Farm, a business that she and her extended family began in 2016.

Sophie hails from a farming family in NSW and has spent over 20 years working in the food industry. Before Torello Farm, Sophie worked in marketing and business development roles for a diverse range of food companies and organisations including GreenGrocer.com.au, the Australian Blueberry Growers and the Australian and Victorian Farmers' Markets Associations, of which she was a founding member of both. For nearly a decade Sophie was a regular contributor to the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age about food and seasonal produce.

Each role Sophie has embarked on in her diverse career has built a deeper passion for local food systems. She is currently on the Small-Scale Agriculture and Craft Industry Advisory Committee for the Minister of Agriculture, and relishes the fact that Torello Farm allows her to connect community with local, seasonal produce, and the people responsible for growing it. In an often male-dominated industry, Sophie is a dedicated advocate for female voices and looks forward to more local women being empowered and celebrated through Women in Business Mornington Peninsula.
