I'm an artist, curator and stylist, owner of Nunchi Oils and founder of Lander—Se, a contemporary gallery based in Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula.
My own practice moves across painting, scent and installation, exploring landscape, memory and atmosphere through materially driven processes. Alongside that, I work in interior styling, art direction and creative marketing for architecture and interior design studios, focusing on the way composition, light and space can affect our interior worlds, and it shows up in the gallery as much as it does in my own paintings.
Since opening, Lander—Se has presented 13 exhibitions with more than 30 artists, mostly women from regional Victoria and NSW. Running a gallery while staying a practising artist is the constant balancing act, and the hardest part has been learning to separate the two without losing what makes them feed each other. My styling work, painting, curating, artist mentorship and scent making all draw on the same principles of atmosphere, place and materiality.
I joined WiB MP because I hope to bring more visibility to the artists I represent, and to learn from other women building considered, place-led businesses already doing well.
