SUE McMILLAN
Summary of board and professional experience
I am a successful, strategic leader with an ability to engage and lead a wide range of stakeholders in both the public and private sectors and broader community. I have a comprehensive finance, marketing, communications and administration background.
My professional experience has been varied and equips me well to deliver on what is required for a role on the board of the Women in Business Mornington Peninsula.
I am a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Directors (AICD), successfully completing the AICD Diploma in 2010.
I have been employed with the Victorian State Government for ten years. My role as a Senior Investment Manager within the agency of Invest Victoria is focussed on securing international and significant local investment and reinvestment into Victoria through providing support around facilitation and/or financial assistance.
Prior to my time in state and local government, I had established myself as a mortgage broker - contracting to Aussie Home Loans. I was recognised by Aussie for my achievements in this role.
My time in local government as a Mayor and Councillor, together with the wealth of experience I have gained in my years in the Victorian Government and the numerous boards I have been involved in, provides me with experience and insight that will benefit MPWB.
My husband, Greg Hyams and I relocated down at our home at Rye at the commencement of Covid in early 2020. We love living on the Mornington Peninsula and also enjoy spending time up in our apartment in St Kilda Road, Melbourne.
My board responsibilities and leadership roles include:
