at Red Gum BBQ, Red Hill
Learn from local experts how you can develop, grow and extend the impact of ethical and sustainable business on the Mornington Peninsula.
Do you want to learn more about how to make your business more ethical and sustainable? You may be deep along the journey, taking first steps or just wondering what it’s all about – this Masterclass will answer all of your burning questions!
Red Gum BBQ is partnering with Women in Business Mornington Peninsula (WiBMP) for their next forum in the Doing Good Business series to discuss how we can flip the switch on what it means to do GOOD Business. WiB members have a particular passion for this work and have insightful stories to share about how they have innovated and created impact.
Our speakers know first hand what it takes to start and run successful businesses on the Peninsula that are not just profitable but GOOD.
Our Masterclass Guides for this session are Sophie O’Neil, Birte Moliere and Melissa Goffin.
Sophie is a board member of WiBMP as well as being a co-owner of Torello Farm. Sophie has a long history in agriculture and local food industries and currently sits on the Small-Scale Agriculture and Craft Industry Advisory Committee for the Minister of Agriculture. She is a passionate advocate for local food systems and is incredibly proud that Torello Farm currently supports approximately 70 Mornington Peninsula farmers and producers, helping enable the sustainability of their local farming endeavours alongside her own.
Birte is the owner of SEED Sustainability Solutions. Whilst the name of her company speaks for itself, Birte brings strong experience in coaching others on building sustainability programs and strategies across a number of industries that result in positive impact, saving money and developing a sustainable brand. Birte is our very own local eco-warrior taking her passion for the environment into our local community through impactful community initiatives, supporting business and community to make a difference in their space. Birte is also Victoria’s Plastic Free Places Facilitator with Boomerang Alliance and well versed in all things waste & circular economy.
Melissa is the co-founder and Chair of WiBMP as well as being the Owner and Managing Director of Red Gum BBQ, the Mornington Peninsula’s iconic Southern-style BBQ joint, located in Red Hill. Red Gum BBQ is Australia’s first B Corp restaurant and is celebrating their recent recertification. The ethical accreditation speaks to the business’ commitment to prioritising people and the planet over profit. Melissa is a sought after speaker on the topic of ethics in business and all of the ways we can do this beyond the environment.
This experienced panel will share some of their experiences and insights, as well as tips and tricks on building a sustainable business on the Mornington Peninsula.
